Multicultural Coalition
Exploring, learning and sharing with other cultural organizations about the culture, rituals and ceremonies. The Edmonton Bengali Association had teamed up with the Edmonton Multicultural Coalition to proudly present “Building Bridges Together” in partnership with Creating Hope Society.
Together we arranged a two day virtual showing wherein the indigenous and Bengali ethnocultural community members came together and explored, learned and shared from each other the rituals, ceremonies and culture that has been practiced for ages.
This project was an attempt to bridge an Ethno cultural and an Indigenous community together, interculturally. Both the communities shared knowledge about their respective culture, talk about uncomfortable feelings and bust some myths that have clouded the relations between the two communities. This allowed us in forming positive mental images and attitudes, gain awareness of diverse perspective and complement each other.
