Positive Thoughts
Volunteers are the foundation of any community organization. Anyone who is passionate to volunteer and wish to learn about Bengali culture is encouraged to participate in the various activities offered by EBA.
Leadership & Culture
Volunteers who give their time and expertise on these activities gain paramount satisfaction of being a building block of the Bengali community in Edmonton. Volunteering is not only limited to engaging in leadership roles, but also to perform customary Bengali cultural tasks like arranging Pujas, helping in transportation, traditional performances, preparing and serving Bengali food, being part of various charitable cause and social gatherings. This is an opportunity to learn and help others to learn.
A big family
In EBA, each member and other participating non-member are like a big family, and we depend on each other for support. It is our own collective time and efforts that makes this association run smoothly.
EBA also encourages youth to get involved as a volunteer. This enables them to learn about the Bengali culture, leadership role and to organize various youth specific events. It also gives them a platform to engage in charitable activities like collecting food for food banks, fund raising for hospitals, blood donation camps and many other social activities. EBA recognizes their efforts by providing them with certificate of recognition for their valuable contribution.
